The house where the forest begins
The Forest House is our second glamping house in the Ore Mountains. The tiny house stands on a meadow right at the edge of the forest, close to the Meadow House, and yet in a completely different world. Spruces and birches behind you, tall grass and the open western horizon in front of the windows.
Here the day is measured not in hours but in light. Morning mist between the trees, the scent of the forest in the afternoon, and in the evening the sun setting right into the window above the dining table. After that, only silence, darkness without streetlights, and stars.
A little way off, half hidden among the trees, stands an old mountain house. It is more than a hundred years old, belongs to us and nobody lives there. It watches over the meadow like a quiet neighbour who never turns on a light and never hears a thing. The whole place is yours alone.
Inside, you will find the same design our guests know from the Meadow House: two king-size beds, a stove, a kitchen and a Finnish sauna. Here, though, the interior is made of poplar wood.

The house faces west. As the day draws to a close, the sky above the meadow glows orange and pink, and you watch it all from the table with a glass of wine in hand, or wrapped in a blanket in the doorway.
And to end the evening properly, fire up the sauna. Then step out for a moment into the cool air, the scent of the forest and a slowly darkening sky. And back into the warmth by the stove.

What you ask us
The Forest House stands in Malý Háj in the Ore Mountains, on a meadow right at the edge of the forest, close to our first house, the Meadow House. It is about 1.5 hours by car from Prague.
You will receive the exact address once your booking is confirmed.
Both houses have the same layout, equipment and Finnish sauna. They differ in location, atmosphere and the wood of the interior. The Meadow House stands in the middle of a meadow with open views over the Ore Mountains plateau. The Forest House stands right at the edge of the forest and offers more privacy. Both houses have the sunset right in the window. Inside, they differ in the wood: the Meadow House is ash, the Forest House is poplar. And in the toilet: the Meadow House has a chemical toilet, the Forest House a separating toilet.
The Forest House sleeps 2+2 in two king-size beds. It suits couples as well as families with children.
A night at the Forest House costs 3,400 CZK on weeknights (Sunday–Thursday) and 4,400 CZK at weekends (Friday, Saturday). The price includes the fully equipped tiny house with its Finnish sauna.

Complete. Apart from the tiny house, the only building nearby is an old mountain house, more than a hundred years old, which belongs to us and is uninhabited. Nobody lives or stays there, so the meadow, the forest and the sunsets are yours alone.
You may glimpse it between the trees. We like the way it keeps watch over the place, as it has for the whole of the last century.

The kitchen has a frying pan, 2 pots, a moka pot, a French press, a tea kettle, mugs, wine glasses, cutlery, plates, bowls, a corkscrew, a potato peeler and a colander for pasta or salad.
Kampot pepper and salt from .pepper..field, cane sugar, coffee (100% Arabica for hand grinding), Japanese Sencha green tea and Sedmikvítek herbal tea by Grešík, Italian cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil and honey from a beekeeper in nearby Hora Svaté Kateřiny. For cooking there is ghee. In the fridge you will find eggs from happy hens at the Kateřina farm (organic farm of the year 2022).

The nearest shop is about 20 km away, the nearest larger towns are Chomutov (approx. 25 km) and Most (approx. 30 km). We recommend shopping before you arrive or ordering one of our hampers.
Bed linen, towels and sauna sheets are ready for you, so there is nothing to bring. You will also find basics on site: coffee, tea, olive oil, honey, pepper, salt, sugar, ghee and eggs from the Kateřina farm.
